Overview

Jayden McClam (they/he) is a writer, artist, and educator from Buffalo, New York. They earned a B.S. in Psychology from Howard University in 2022, where they were a poetry editor for The Amistad. As a 2022 Marita Golden Literary Fellow, he helped develop literary arts programming centering poetry and justice for the Folger Shakespeare Library. Jayden was named semifinalist for the 2022 Key West Literary Seminar Emerging Writer Award, and finalist for Harbor Review’s Washburn Chapbook Prize. Jayden’s work explores Black survivorship, ancestral healing, and social transformation, and their poems can be found in Nimrod International Journal and The Amistad.
