*Coursework requirements: 4 MFA seminars, Small Publishing Workshop, Teaching Writing 7100, Pedagogical & Thesis Seminar, and 4 additional graduate level courses (at least 4 in English, Comparative Literature, Cultural Studies or Modern or classical language, or theory) approved by your chair with no "INC" grades. One independent/directed/group study is permitted per student.

Philip H. Freund '29 Teaching Fellowship
Degree recipients who are actively seeking outside funding/employment are eligible to apply to teach for one or two years as a lecturer. These positions one-year appointments and are dependent on an application, successfully graduating, and are not guaranteed to all graduates. The second year requires a separate application. They are made possible by an endowment established by the late Philip H. Freund ’29 and a bequest from the Truman Capote Literary Trust.
