Creative Writing Minor Declaration Form

You may count courses taken at any point in your Cornell career. No first-year writing seminar counts, and you can count at most 4 credits from transfer, study abroad, independent study, or courses (where relevant) from another Cornell department. All courses must be taken for a grade.

Submit this form no later than the seventh week of your final semester before graduation.

 

Required Courses

The minor in Creative Writing requires the completion of five courses of at least 3 credits each. The following courses are required: list the semester and year in which you took each course.

The fifth required course can be any English course in literature or cultural studies of at least 3 credits at the 2000-level or higher, including ENGL 4850 Reading for Writers; or an alternative course approved by the Director of Creative Writing, including Screenwriting.
