Nafissa Thompson-Spires Published in Ploughshares

We are pleased to announce that “The Old Doctor’s Story, or The Haunting of Mill Creek Medical Facility” by Nafissa Thompson-Spires has been published in the 50th Anniversary Issue of Ploughshares this summer.

About the Issue
Ploughshares is delighted to announce the release of our 50th Anniversary Issue, out Summer 2021. Guest-edited by Aimee Bender, this issue showcases the work of “writers who make the shapes they want to make, who follow the flow of the story and who remind us of all a story or an essay can do and be,” Bender writes in her introduction. “Here, then, are some writers who work the form to hold the complexity, a bountifully inhabited sea of prose.” Contributors to the 50th Anniversary Issue of Ploughshares include Nana Adjei-Breniyah, Ramaan Alam, Patrick Cottrell, Amelia Gray, Mona Awad, and others.
