Lara Stecewycz

Overview

Lara Stecewycz is a Ukrainian-American poet from Massachusetts. She is currently an MFA candidate in Poetry at Cornell University, and works as an Assistant Editor at Arrowsmith Press and at Epoch Magazine. She has previously worked as an Editorial Assistant at the Massachusetts Review and a reader for The Common. She has translated poems and essays for Crimean Fig/Qırım İnciri, the first anthology of contemporary fiction and poetry by Crimean Tatar writers to be published in English translation. She holds a B.A. in English and Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she was a member of the Commonwealth Honors College. She has received the English Opportunity scholarship, the Class of 1940 Prize in Poetry, and a scholarship to attend the New York State Summer Writers Institute. She has also attended the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference. Her writing has been published in the Massachusetts Review, Arrowsmith Journal, and Jabberwocky Journal.
